Keeping Your Cat's Ear Clean

Cats are generally known for being able to groom and clean themselves by licking their body. Because of this, some pet owners do not worry about cleaning them frequently. However, some still prefer to give their cats a nice bath and clean them thoroughly.

One of the most overlooked body parts of a cat is her ears. If you have an indoor cat, she has less exposure to dirt and pollution, so her ears may not get too dirty as that of an outdoor cat. Outdoor cats are more susceptible to dirt since they are always outside.

An outdoor cat may need more frequent ear cleaning than an indoor cat. However, it does not mean that her ears must be cleaned every day. You still have to check her ears to see if there is wax and dirt build-up before proceeding with cleaning it. Overcleaning your cat's ears also have some downsides and may cause an ear infection.

If your pet is showing any signs of an ear infection, make an appointment with your animal hospital San Diego, CA.
