If it's November, it must be NaNo! November is National Novel Writing Month, abbreviated NaNoWriMo, the month when crazy people all over the world attempt to write a 50,000-word novel (or 50,000 words of a longer novel) in 30 days. I'm participating again, as I almost always do.
I'm a bit of a NaNoWriMo, which actually is a thing. Instead of starting from scratch on a new novel, I plan to finish the manuscript draft I've been working on, by adding the chapters I need for completing my plot, and editing some of what I already have. It is not the first time I have vowed to complete this manuscript for a NaNo event -- most recently for Camp NaNoWriMo in July, before I spent the entire month traveling and wrote very little -- but I think I will really manage it this time.
I started at midnight last night and wrote 1,290 words until 2 a.m. (average per day to finish on time is 1,667) and am about to start another writing session now. Wish me luck!
I am also participating in the Blog Like Crazy challenge this month, but that isn't nearly as ambitious.
