Are you ready for September? The month ushers in the autumn season, football, a long holiday weekend, and much more. The various events are a perfect opportunity for making entries in your journal. If you are searching for inspiration, check out the following journal writing prompts for September.

  1. How did August go for you? your family? your friends? your community? List the highs and lows of the month.
  2. Do you have plans for the long Labar Day weekend? Go into detail.
  3. How did you spend long holiday weekends as a child? Write about your favorite memories.
  4. Happy Labor Day! How did you spend your day?
  5. What are your goals for the rest of September? Write out your list.
  6. What are your goals for the remaining months of 2023?
  7. Do you like football? Do you tailgate? What is your favorite football memory?
  8. Describe a minor roadblock in your life right now. What steps are you taking to overcome this obstacle?
  9. Write about your worst vacation.
  10. Write about your best vacation.
  11. Write about your memories of 9/11 when the trade center fell.
  12. Write down 5 things that you can do to improve your health.
  13. What were you doing at 3pm today? Go into detail.
  14. Write down your earliest memory.

  23. Happy First Day of Autumn! What is the best part about the fall season?
  24. Create an autumn-season bucket list.
  25. What is your dream vacation? Plan it.
  26. Look through photos on your phone or camera. Pick one and write about it. Go into detail.
  27. Who is someone you miss? Why is this person so important to you?
  28. Would your younger self be happy with who you are today? Why or why not?
  29. What would you do if you could do any job for one day? Why?
  30. Write about your favorite memory of September.
