The Glucose Goddess Method

I just finished reading The Glucose Goddess Method by Jessie Inchauspé. It's more of a cookbook, really.

Her first book was Glucose Revolution. In it, she outlined 10 Hacks to help you reduce glucose spikes caused by eating our Western diet.

In The Glucose Goddess Method, she focuses on only 4 of those Hacks. And she introduces them over a four-week period.

The first week, you start with Hack One: Eat a savoury breakfast. No sweets or sugary things for breakfast. Sweets cause glucose spikes and have a negative impact on the rest of your day.

In the second week, you keep having the savoury breakfast, but add some vinegar to your day. You can either add a tablespoon of vinegar to a glass of water and drink it. Or you can eat pickled things. You can take it first thing in the morning, so you remember. Or a few minutes before your meal that will have the most carbohydrates.

In the third week, you keep doing the breakfast and tablespoon of vinegar. But add a veggie starter at the beginning of your lunch or dinner. It can be in the form of a salad. Or eating the veggies on your plate before the rest of the stuff.

In the fourth week, you keep doing the other things, but add movement after one of your meals of the day. After lunch or dinner, you move for 10 minutes. It can be as simple as going for a walk. Or dancing to some music in the kitchen.

The bulk of the book contain recipes to help you stay on track with the hacks. And the great thing is that most of them are very easy to do. I'm keen to try some of the pickle recipes she has.

The hacks aren't intended to be a diet. They are to help reduce your glucose spikes, which impacts insulin resistance. Which can cause all sorts of issues. Like cravings, chronic fatigue, weight gain, poor sleep, and so on.

You don't have to change your diet. You add things like the vinegar or veggie starter. And change up how you eat breakfast.

I read the book quickly, so it's been only a week. Too early to tell if the hacks have made any noticeable impact to me.

I'll check back in four weeks to let you know if I notice any changes or not.
