When I was a kid, I had a magic closet.
New clothes (to me) would appear from time to time.
I would open the closet door one day, and there'd be a shirt or a pair of pants that wasn't there the day before.
I never questioned it. I accepted that fact that new things would show up in my closet.
It happened throughout the year. There was never a special occasion.
Just random manifestations of new clothing.
I was in my teens before I realized that it was my mom that putting them there.
She liked to go to second hand clothing stores and pick up "new" stuff for us. And she'd put them in the closest without telling us.
But for the longest time I believed that magic was putting the clothes in the closet.
I didn't tell people about it. I just accepted the fact.
The real magic, of course, was having a mom that loved me. And she was able to get things for me. Not every one is that lucky.
I'm older now and I don't have a magic closet anymore.
My mother passed away many years ago.
But a pair of pants magically arrived at the door today for me. Not from my mother, of course.
But from another person that loves me. My wife, Deb.
There's aways a little magic to go around. If you're open to seeing it.
