Health Commissioner reiterate Gov't commitment to Health partners,hails Lafarge

The Cross River State Commissioner For Health,Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk has reiterated Government commitment to continually support ready partners to delivery quality health care services in the state.

Ayuk who spoke at the occasion of of the world malaria day/medical outreach powered by Lafarge mentioned that over the years Lafarge as partners with the state have been very proactive and consistent in their service delivery and support to Government while charging them to do more.

"If u allow grasses around your house without keeping your environment clean u stand a high risk of having malaria that is contacted from mosquito bites. In fact, having grasses around your house without keeping your environment clean exposes one to a high risk of having malaria that is contacted from mosquito bites. In fact, having dirty environment is more dangerous than witch Craft."
The proactive Health Boss, advised members of the community to take ownership of the opportunity given to them by Lafarge to access quality health care services at all times.

Also speaking at the event on the theme: Health equity,gender & human right was the Director general of the CRS primary Health care development Agency,Dr Mrs Vivian Otu who added that about 90 to 95% of malaria cases in the world is in the Country & Cross River State shares about 23%
Showing that malaria is still very much in the state. She advocated for all stakeholders to join hands in fighting malaria in state,especially for pregnant,underaged & aged people as she thanked Lafarge & other partners for their continual support towards eradicating malaria in the state.

In his speech,Sotirios Valsamakis the plant manager said that, every year Lafarge continue to impact members of their host communities with health interventions which their scope was expanded this year for more communities to benefit.

The event took place at Akwa Ikot Health centre in Akpabuyo LGA and had in Attendance opinion leaders of the community & beneficiaries of the medical outreach.
