Sunday …

By Ann Schwartz on September 1, 2024

What a wonderful day was Saturday.

I was falling asleep by 6 am, (after waking at 3) so I went back to bed until 7:30 and slept like the proverbial log. Weird, eh?

My shoulder hardly hurt at all until later when I tweaked it by moving the wrong way. Okay, I might have been carrying orders of garlic in each hand while trying to open a door … so I richly deserved a tweak.

I picked up Zippy from town on the dot of 10 am, then let my 11 am (drop off of two dogs) know that I was back home early: so soon I was ready to go to the Market!

I had garlic to deliver, and some bar stools. There was also a whole lot of "catching up" to do.

All summer, if my sleep was disturbed by the sore shoulder, or my outlook of the day was affected by pain or the pain meds, I had times when I felt less sociable than ever.

But not yesterday. I had several great visits that were like happy reunions with friends.

Someone was a bit aggressive about us using wasp bombs to eradicate two wasp nests in the ground within the raspberry patch at our own place. I felt huffy about that but forgot to argue the point.

I was in the middle of a pleasant conversation about donuts, with our friend who has the food truck. Though later I thought that this self righteous schmuck deserved a comeback; I didn't manage one! Really though, we hadn't sprayed any leaves, and the raspberries had all been picked anyway. We feel that the wasps hold more danger than any winddrift from the bug foam, and besides, the other people weren't eating or buying our berries. 🖕

Yes, I know that I can be a bit too thin skinned. Just a wee bit. 🤏

Well, okay, I might be known for that. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Montana's wee dachshund is here overnight, and she sent a photo of herself and boyfriend Colton at a wedding yesterday.
