It is how they live, and how they expect you to live. The doctrine of their religion is so ingrained in them from birth that they will lash out at you for not adhering to it as well. To them you are in the wrong. They don't understand you, and your Christian doctrine has become so foreign even to people born Christian now that Christians don't know how to respond.
