End of the Year Book Tag

Hello, bookworms!

I am finally back home after 9 days of utter and complete chaos. I wish I could sleep for at least 72 hours straight, but alas, the show must go on and I have to work. Can you believe we only have two months left in the year? I cannot and it's driving me crazy. I know I always say the same things about time passing, but it's really unsettling to me.

Anyways, today I am here to answer the End of the Year Book Tag. I do this tag every year, and this year I am a bit late, but I still wanted to bring it to my blog for a 2022 edition. This and the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag are my favourite "generic" tags, because I really love talking about my reading plans and progress, so here we are. The original tag was created by Ariel Bisset on Youtube, so be sure to check it out, if you feel like it.

🌨Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
As you may know, I am known for always finishing the books I start within the same month I started them, so technically no, there are not books I need to finish. The only book I can pick for this question is the book I am currently reading, which is Bonds of Brass by Emily Skrutskie, but I don't think it really counts. Which is why, I am going to pick three books I want to read to finish series before 2023: Greywaren by Maggie Stiefvater, to finish The Dreamer Trilogy, Rag and Bone by K.J. Charles to finish the A Charm of Magpies series and Seasonal Fears by Seanan McGuire, to finish the Alchemical Journeys duology.

🌨Do you have a book or autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
Since I am late and to me November is already winter (leave me alone, my inner clock works differently), I am going to pick three wintery books I hope to read before the end of the year. Realistically, I don't think I will get to them, but I still want to share them with you: Moon of the Crusted Snow by Waubgeshig Rice, The Hunting Party by Lucy Foley and The Ice Princess by Camilla Lackberg. They are all snowy mystery-thrillers I have been wanting to read for a long time, especially The Ice Princess which I own physically. Sadly, I still have a lot of challenges to finish, so I don't think I'll be able to read them this year.

🌨Is there a new release you're still waiting for?
I have already read them, because I had ARCs, but Five Survive by Holly Jackson, Never Ever Getting Back Together by Sophie Gonzales and Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson are three releases I want to remind you of. Aside from these two, there are How to Excavate a Heart by Jake Maia Arlow, At Midnight edited by Dahlia Adler, The Lies We Tell by Katie Zhao and A Million to One by Adiba Jaigirdar I am really looking forward to!

🌨What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
I have a lot of them, because I need to finish some challenges, as I was saying. Aside from the ones mentioned above, I am quickly going to list the others here: House of Hunger by Alexis Henderson, Alex in Wonderland and Heartbreak Boys by Simon James Green, Kiss and Tell by Adib Khorram, Real Easy by Marie Rutkoski, Lost in the Never Woods by Aiden Thomas, That Way Madness Lies edited by Dhalia Adler, A Lady's Guide to Fortune-Hunting by Sophie Irwin and As Far As You'll Take Me by Phil Stamper.

🌨Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favorite of the year?
I honestly don't think so. My favourite book of the year is Babel by R.F. Kuang and I cannot see anything on my TBR for these last few months beating it. I have high hopes for some of the books I have to read, but I can't imagine any of them being better than Babel in my eyes. That book was truly written for me and I loved it so deeply. It's not only my favourite book of the year, but one of my favourite books of all times. We shall see how it goes.

🌨Have you already started making reading plans for 2022?
What kind of question is this? Of course I have already started making plans for 2022. I am the biggest planner of all planners and you can bet your life I have already a detailed list of articles I want to write with books I want to feature and a long long list of new releases I want to read in 2023. I am going to write a dedicated article at the beginning of next year, where I explain all my reading goals and plans for 2023. I won't spoil anything yet, but I will say my main plan is to plan less, because I want to try and mood read a bit more. I don't know if I'll be able to, I am still an anxious 5w6 INTP and organisation is in my DNA, but I really hope to manage to take it a bit easier. And maybe finally read some books that have been sitting on my shelves for the longest time.

This is going to be all for today! Thank you so much for reading, let me know your answer to the questions, if you want to. I'd love to hear about your end of the year reading plans and goals.

I will talk to you in the upcoming days, I am still not sure in which order the reviews are going to be up, but you can expect a lot of them, especially of queer books!
