Tuesday started out a bit hectic, but turned into an ordinary day. Well, not that ordinary anyway.
Fasten your seatbelts … these are going to be random ramblings.
Is it frowned upon by polite society to add vodka directly to a can of healthful sparkling water? Asking for my oldest friend.
My sore left hand was, well, sore. I didn't feel that I was doing my best work, though I am definitely right handed. It was a mercy that the two little dogs I groomed were so pleasant and cooperative.
I also struggled a lot with clipper blades and clippers, even though I used various combinations, including new-out-of-the-package blades. Nothing worked well for long. The one short blade that cut without a problem was noisy, probably scary for a dog. Nothing I did reduced the vibration or rattle.
By Tuesday evening, I felt worn out, run down, pushed and stressed. Buddy had done very little other than try to escape after we had been doing so well and he had acted composed and loving.
I was scooping poop at 5 pm, no small feat when one babysits large and extra large dogs. While I have a sore "paw" myself, it's worse! When Gary came along with some helpful suggestions about changes to the fences, I almost fell apart. I had felt most of the day like putting my head down and bawling.
Eventually, of course, things fell into place. I had a plan for our dinner: potato salad (super simple with an instantpot method) and bbq meat balls, which were made "keto". I actually had a meatball sub made with coconut flour bread given to me by Beth.
My dinner was washed down by sparkling water spiked with vodka. I hoped that nobody would phone.
No such luck. I considered myself "booked up" for the week, but some favourites phoned. I apologize if I already booked you next week.
It's 7 am, and I must get out to care for my charges. I'll get back here to visit with you, I promise.
