Jim Adams' Song Lyric Sunday gives us the chance to share familiar, and sometimes not so familiar, songs. This week the prompt is to find a song featured in a film that made the charts.

If you fancy sharing one of your favourite songs you can find out how to participate, and also listen to all the great entries, here.

This week I've chosen a song that I could quite happily listen to over and over again, which is very appropriate as it featured in the film Groundhog Day as the wake up music for the main character.

The song is, of course, I Got You Babe by Sonny and Cher, released in August 1965.

Here it is, complete with scenes taken from the film:

And an early appearance on BBC Top of the Pops 1965

I Got You Babe

They say we're young and we don't know
Won't find out till we grow
Well I don't know why that's true
'Cause you got me baby, I got you

Babe, I got you babe, I got you, babe

They say our love won't pay the rent
Before it's earned our money's always spent
I guess that's so, we don't have a lot
But at least I'm sure of all the things we got

Babe, I got you babe, I got you, babe

I got flowers in the spring
I got you, to wear my ring
And when I'm sad, you're a clown
And if I get scared you're always around
So let they say your hair's too long
I don't care, with you I can't go wrong
Then put your warm little hand in mine
There ain't no hill or mountain we can't climb

Babe, I got you babe, I got you babe, I got you babe

I got you to hold my hand
I got you to understand
I got you to walk with me
I got you to talk with
I got you to kiss goodnight
I got you to hold me tight
I got you I won't let go
I got you to love me so
I got you, babe
