Named after the daughter of Llywelyn the Great who was born in the village, this is an award winning, eco-friendly, comfortable, family-run hotel in Snowdonia, full of historic character, in Dolwyddelan near Betws-y-Coed in North Wales.
Once an 18th Century coaching inn, and originally part of the Earl of Ancaster's Welsh Estate, this hotel offers a unique place to relax at the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales. We have electric car charging points and a silver Green Tourism award for those wishing to minimise their carbon footprint while staying in the Snowdonia National Park.
Retaining its original character and many fittings, Elen's Castle Hotel in Dolwyddelan near Betws-y-Coed has guest rooms to suit all tastes including an amazing four-poster room overlooking the Lledr Valley and river, a family suite (sleeping up to 5) and accommodation to suit small walking groups. The hotel has a cosy olde world bar with a log-burning stove which serves a multitude of local drinks including an enviable selection of gins from the North Wales area. There is also a wonderful, small award-winning restaurant which is highly praised by tourists and locals alike.
All rooms are ensuite and several have baths as well as showers. Each room is individually decorated and well-equipped with TV, tea/coffee, hairdryer, radio alarm clock and superfast wireless broadband internet connection. To ensure a good night's sleep, all our beds are firm (so no roll-together!). There is also a small bunkroom for those on a tight budget, available only during the summer months.
If you are celebrating a special occasion, or just want a treat, you can pre-order a bottle of wine to be waiting for you on arrival.
