Riding House Farm Cottages offers charming self catering accommodation in Castleton, based in a gorgeous countryside location. We are perched on the slopes of the Hope Valley, boasting amazing views over Hope Valley, Castleton and Peveril Castle. Further afield you can visit lots of attractions in Derbyshire.
We have 3 lovely cottages to choose from, tastefully converted from an ancient stone barn. The cottages have been finished to the highest standards whilst still retaining original features. Based on our traditional Derbyshire hill farm rearing beef and sheep, we are perfect for the ultimate rural escape.
Shepherd's Cottage
This cosy cottage is great for an escape to the country. The cottage sleeps 4 people in 1 double and 1 twin. Inside there are original oak trusses and beams plus excellent facilities. Unwind in the sitting room that has a fireplace with a living flame electric stove, comfy seating and a TV. The kitchen comes with a range of appliances for home-cooking.
Milkmaid's Cottage
Our large one-bedroom cottage comes with a 6' bed, great for a romantic getaway. A lovely sitting room comes with comfortable seating, a TV, CD player and a DVD player. The well-equipped kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. The adjacent laundry room comes with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs there is a bathroom with a bath and WC, whilst downstairs there is a shower and WC.
Groom's Cottage
Adjoining the farmhouse, our beautifully furnished cottage is great for a relaxing break in the Peak District National Park. The open plan living room comes with oak beams and exposed bricks, seating and a smart TV. Enjoy some home cooking in the fully equipped kitchen that comes with an oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge/freezer. A super-king bedroom is accessed via the twin bedroom.
The area is a haven for walkers, with direct access to delightful footpaths right on our doorstep. A short walk will take you to the pretty village of Castleton. You can also visit Peveril Castle, the Peak Cavern, Speedwell, Treak Cliff, Blue John caverns, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Lyme park. A range of local restaurants and pubs are great for good food, plus a couple of takeaways.
