My son graduated high school today!
With covid pandemic restrictions still in place, there could be no in-person ceremony. Instead, there was a televised one. Graduates watched from home while their names and photos appeared on their TV screens.
The speaker was terrible, but the school principal gave a nice speech. The whole thing was kind of pathetic, but it was the best anyone could do, given the danger of spreading the virus and the enormous size of the high-school class.
In any case, we had my mom and sister Maria visiting for it and also watching the televised ceremony. And I ordered a cake for it that was both gorgeous and delicious. Overall, everyone did the best they could to celebrate these graduates (except for the horrible, sexist speaker and the people who could have edited his pre-recorded speech and did not).
We wish Jon Morgan all the best, and are proud of all that he has accomplished under less-than-ideal circumstances. We will do better for his college graduation.
