Those clear spring evenings in April are touchingly beautiful with the turquoise glow in the sky for the longest time after the sun has set. The velvety blackness of the creek and its banks reflects the lights on the street and on the buildings, illuminating the fronts and sides of the buildings.
I took several dusk photos walking around town years ago to capture those reflections and the lights of the town under that big sky. In 2006 I decided to give acrylic painting a try with a bit of an Impressionist feel and among other subjects I pulled out three of the photos as subjects. This is one of the three. I usually work in pastel but I really enjoyed painting the feeling of painting and how the paintings turned out. Two of them sold including this one and I still have the third.
