Last night's Rendevous dinner was amazing. The company was good (members of the local chapter of the Backcountry Horsemen of BC and many other chapters, guests, speakers and presenters) and the food was outstanding.
The meal itself was delicious: tender roast beef, potatoes & gravy, Yorkshire pudding, salmon filet, vegetables, buns and salads. The caterers were pleasant and well organized.
The evening was damp and cold and I was underdressed. I couldn't even make it through all the speeches and presentations and auctions without going back to the car to warm up. I asked Gary to take me home even before the dance started. 😢
I love that local band and was sorry to miss the music with or without the dancing. Gary didn't mind anyway: by the time we drove home, it was his bedtime. 🤷🏼♀️
Shelly did a nice job of decoration the table. She did other displays as well.
I decorated and donated five "vases", a very small contribution.
Our friend Joyce with 'Kick', one of her draft horses.
Many volunteers spent hundreds of hours organizing this event. I missed seeing dozens of vendors, displays and demonstrations, but the whole weekend was a tremendous success for everyone.
In my own corner of the Valley yesterday, I mostly tended the garden and animals. I baked Gary a little cake for his birthday today.
Hope your day is a good one.
Love, Ann
P.s. Day before yesterday, a friend from Dunster accidentally took a large garter snake to the transfer station. It was "recovered" alive, placed in a bag, and taken back to the farm.
