Fitz was a friend to all and was always up to play with everyone who was willing. When we met him as a puppy in the shelter, he offered up his only possession through the kennel: a simple, chewed up bone. This was all we needed to know to know how big and loving his heart was. He was with us for 8 wonderful years. In time, a 12 pound Dachshund fell into our lives and instantly, they became the best of brothers. They've spent practically every waking moment together and made our household overflow with love. Fitz would constantly checkup on us, follow us around, cuddle with us, and always got us in the mood to play tug or play chase. He was a cancer warrior and fought his canine lymphoma for 6 months through chemo before passing peacefully. He was 9 years old, and an everlasting supply of love. He was the most clever boy, very athletic, and was so empathetic. His presence in our home was big, and we'll miss him dearly. We love you, Fitz, and we anticipate seeing you up in Heaven. We chose this photo because it encompasses Fitz's personality so well. Happy, positive, a ray of warm light.
