I was up and dressed, out the door before 6 am.. I had yet another project, a phase of the projects in mind.
I had a 3' round patch of "Sarah Marsh's perennial geraniums" that was beautiful but almost never seen by any visitor. For colour, I'm going to distribute some of the plants among the hostas and other treasures out front.
It was easy digging. Despite that this variety of plant is a polite spreader (as opposed to invasive), it came up with lots of roots and few weeds. Score!
Then I poured coffee and sat in the new oasis out front. A motion caught my eye: there was a large doe between me and the vegetable garden. As I warned Mica not to chase and I reached for my camera, the dear deer nonchalantly trotted over to the driveway and out of sight.
I don't think she trampled any garlic or ate a salad. 🤞

Yesterday featured some truly sundry errands.
With Mica and Minna in the truck, I dropped off garbage, then took items to the swap shed. I did a housecall to clip the toenails on a sweet little chihuahua. We delivered a pet carrier to a friend and I bought groceries.
We came home, and then I went without the dogs to see Kitty Culp, who is making the family farm more ready for market. Kitty's present home is New Zealand.
Kitty and I strolled around, appreciating her mom's lilacs and all the rest of the beauty of the property. For me, this was not only getting reacquainted with a friend, but a time to revisit so many memories.
Bonnie Culp and a friend used to host an annual "Lilac Walk". This showcased dozens of varieties of lilacs (of hundreds that exist), ending with a luncheon. 100% soul-fulfilling!
Before heading to Dunster, I had tried to schedule a doctor's appointment. I couldn't see a doctor before July 8 (and not my "own" at that). But because I could honestly say that my shoulder injury was painful for weeks, I could walk in, get X-rays and see the doctor. 🤷🏼♀️
It was confirmed that there was soft tissue injury plus perhaps calcification impingement. Now I will get scheduled for an ultrasound, and I have a prescription for pain. Yay!
Also the massage therapist who owns Minna suggested ice alternating with my hot packs. I felt a difference right away!
So on Thursday, I didn't do any digging or heavy lifting. I had only the care of Tiger, Minna and Casey.

We had a pretty dandy dinner last night. Chicken, plus our own potatoes, and greens in spanakopita. 😋
Who knows what today will bring? I was planning to stay home but will need to go into McBride to pick up the pain meds.
I have a friend who will come over to dig and take home some perennials; we always have a lovely visit.
Of course I want to get back to "guerrilla gardening". I'm on a roll, slowed somewhat by the sore shoulder.
Take care, everyone!
Love, Ann
