Buddy was roaming as a stray. The finder called a local shelter that had no room for him, so WoofWoof Fosters (WWF) stepped up to help since the finder agreed to foster. (Side note: Fosters rule the world!) Buddy was in rough shape and still has a way to go, but we were able to pay the vet $263.29 for his exam, rabies vaccine, parasite testing, and medication. Buddy is on his way to wellness! We think he might make another blog appearance in a few weeks when he is healthy enough for a neuter, so stay tuned for a progress photo!
Lil Momma was also found as a stray. She had been seen hanging out in the same spot for three days and was becoming severely emaciated. Being a senior dog, this was making her very sick. WWF took her to the vet, which showed she had whipworms slowly depleting her, which is sad since it's so easy to prevent! We covered her treatment for $29.70, and this little old gal is recovering in foster care and on a special diet.
Cooper was left behind with two other dogs when his owner moved, leaving them for neighbors to care for. When it became too much with their own dogs, the neighbors reached out to WWF for help. Cooper tested positive for whipworms. We paid $193.88 for his exam/testing, rabies vaccine, and medication.
Diesel was found trying to get around, dragging himself with no use of his back legs. Lucky for him, his finders were WWF contacts! They pulled over and asked around about him and found out he had been hit by a car two weeks prior. They learned his family could not afford to meet his needs and agreed to surrender him to WWF. The finder agreed to foster him. Diesel saw the vet in May, who confirmed his back is broken in two places, causing his paralysis. If that wasn't bad enough, Diesel also tested positive for heartworms. His vet bills were mounting, so WWF asked for our help. We paid $443.38 toward the bill that included his exam, parasite testing, medication, x-rays, and wheelchair fitting. Diesel will be neutered later and, if we are asked to help, we will provide an update!
