Butterfield Cottage is perfectly situated for a self-catering holiday for six in the Peak District National Park. Located in the heart of the park on the edge of Tideswell, it is just a 5-10 minute stroll from shops, pubs, restaurants, and tearooms. The cottage offers bright, airy accommodation, stylishly decorated to create a comfortable and relaxing environment, with some of the best views in Tideswell across the dale.
The cottage features a sunny outdoor sitting and dining area at the front and an enclosed garden at the rear with seating, a washing line, and bike storage. Just across the rear lane, you'll find a free car park and a play area.
Tideswell is a bustling conservation village known as a 'foodie' destination with its own brand 'Taste Tideswell' for local produce and an annual food festival. The village is also home to St. John's Church, known as The Cathedral of the Peak. Nearby attractions include Bakewell, Buxton, the Castleton caverns, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, and Alton Towers, which is a 40-minute drive away.
Butterfield Cottage is ideal for families (children 4 and over), groups, and those who enjoy walking, culture, and outdoor pursuits. It serves as a perfect base for exploring the Peak District.
The cosy sitting room overlooks the enclosed front patio and features comfy sofas and a log burner set into a Derbyshire stone fireplace. The cottage is fully centrally heated and includes a 43-inch SMART LED Panasonic TV with good fibre Wi-Fi speeds. Guests are welcome to bring their Netflix code for added entertainment.
The dining table seats six and, through patio doors, overlooks the secure, sunny, walled rear garden. The well-equipped kitchen includes a washing machine, dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, ironing facilities, and a larder fridge.
Upstairs, the bright and airy bathroom comprises a wash basin, lavatory, bath with shower over, and mirror. The three bedrooms include two double rooms and a twin room with an en-suite shower room featuring a hand basin, mirror, and lavatory.
The cottage gardens catch the sun all day. The secure rear garden is walled and gated, with steps leading to a raised patio area with garden furniture. The steps have a handrail but may not be suitable for very young children or those with walking difficulties. Behind the cottage is a grassy lane leading to the children's play area, free car park, and a grassy area suitable for dog walking.
A covered passageway with a lockable door leads from the back to the front garden, suitable for storing bikes. The fenced and gated front garden catches the sun late into the evening and has an outside dining and sitting area, perfect for enjoying a drink while taking in the stunning views across the dale.
