The inclement weather has produced very poor returns for the summer surveys of Butterflies and Dragonflies. Still I managed to get out between periods of rain last week to do a local survey. The only butterflies seen were 2 Small Whites and 2 meadow Browns in the gardens and no dragonflies at all. On the Tarn there were the usual selection of Wildfowl. The young geese are now difficult to tell from the adults. There was also a small family of Mallard at the golf course end. Greylag Geese Canada Goose Greylag Goose The Coots also seem to have done well and there are a number of family parties. One group were quite young and I wonder if these are a second brood as they are much younger than all the others. Coot Coot | | | | You can also reply to this email to leave a comment. | | | | |
