Yesterday was a lazy day.
We spent considerable time chatting to Gimli neighbours and watching children play on the beach (Juno makes friends and memories).
Gary arranged for someone to fix one of the underused vintage bicycles that lives here.
I read and watch the waves and putter. When my Gary said, "Way to waste a day, eh?", I answered, "But that's what we're here for isn't it?".
It seemed too hot to walk or even drive for ice cream, but … hold on! We had ice cream in the freezer.
Friends of ours: their first two grandsons were born within three days of each other, their next two grandsons were born within two hours of each other. Shortly after, their daughter had a daughter: a family grew from five to thirteen in very short time!
Above is the family of Zev's brother and sister in law.

Someone is sailing early this morning ~ 6:30
Today we are going into Winnipeg. We'll take Toby shopping at "The Forks", a shopping, cultural and eating centre at the confluence of the Red River and the Assiniboine. I've heard about that place for many years and will explore it as best I can without abandoning the rest of my tribe.
I had a pretty good sleep despite shoulder pain (I guess when I'm called for an ultrasound on it, I'll follow through.)
Life here and now is relaxing: I washed some windows yesterday: the stay at Uncle Paul's cottage is free, but it's a 🤏 small gesture. Gary and Beth asked, "What are you doing?" I'm not known for my drive to do housework, but this is really the only maintenance or work I've done while vacationing.
Beth's most important work anywhere at any time is making sure her 9 year old is cared for. Juno is delightful. She has seemingly boundless energy, wit, and intelligence, like our Linden.

It's now 8:30, and Gary has had a breakfast of tiny smashed potatoes, famous 'Smith' kosher salami, scrambled eggs, artisan bread and stout Oso Negro coffee. Yeah, we can still eat like royalty.
A neighbour has his leaf blower fired up and is cleaning fish fly bodies and sand from his deck. It's a routine for him.
Hope your day is stellar.
Love, Ann
