Ecclesiastes chapter 7 is about inheritance, but not just passing on riches to accumulate, which is a good thing and a good way to avoid governments from wasting it, but it is also about passing on knowledge and putting it to good use. The new testament talks about not putting new cloth on an old garment as it looks awful, ("offends it") or new wine in an old skin because it won't hold it. It tears. I watch too many people, for various reasons, including lack of funds, (that would include me) renovating things and trying to make them look as original as possible by incorporating the original parts of the original work in their finished work and it looks awful. Compare it to the finished works from people who opt to entirely strip out the old and replace it with new modern materials derived from the accumulated knowledge of old and modern methods and machinery for doing it. Providing it is done correctly there is no comparison really. Especially compare the comfort. This is a good argument for inheritance, and those who have it and use it well to grow it do well. "Rarely will a rich man enter the kingdom of God." True, but if you must renovate something do it right.
