Yesterday, I decided to go into Prince George ahead of time.
I have no trouble getting up and on the road by 6 am., but I reasoned that I'd have time to shop the day before my long-awaited appointment for ultrasound on my shoulder.
So I had a leisurely drive on a pretty day, arriving in Prince George in early afternoon.
My first stop was a thrift shop … because I was in that end of town. And what did I find? An inexpensive cutlery box in great condition! I know I said I had found about enough … oh well.
And then I went through a drive-through car wash and fuelled up.
I went to Canadian Tire and purchased just what I needed to fit more shelves into my "high school " lockers at home, and a perennial (I hope) plant, little else.
As I returned to the car, I was dismayed to see that the "H" emblem on the front of the car was gone! Ack!
I was fairly certain that the high efficiency car wash was at fault. So, back tracking about 10 miles from my formerly efficient route, I asked at that service station if I could check the floor of the car wash.
The young man said, "No, but I can check on the video".
So I waited and waited. He asked what colour the car was and what the emblem is … I had just showed him a photo of the front of the car and he could see it.
On the video there was only one dark blue Honda that had gone through in an hour. It clearly still had the "H".
On a hunch, I took the car over to the facility and looked … there it was, on the pavement. 😠 Good old fashioned footwork, eh?
So the next stop was the Honda dealer. I had admitted that the car wash ripped the emblem off, but it had fallen off for no reason since shortly after we bought the car.
Then I was quoted $275. to get a new one! Lucky for us, the owner of the dealership was walking by when I sweetly said that it "should be on warranty". He offered, "… yes, that'll be on warranty." Yay!
For cryin' out loud … almost a waste of shopping time, but I'm glad we solved the mystery.
I took pet care supplies to the SPCA, then circled back to Costco. I bought non-perishable goods, and saw some friends from McBride.
I checked into a budget motel, then bought a pricey meal. I couldn't decide if I wanted pizza in the room, or to dine in style. And I didn't want to have even one drink and then drive … but there was a nice pub/restaurant close by.
So I had two beverages!
My room is very nice. I didn't want a pool or hot tub.

I was done with the ultrasound on my shoulder before my appointment time even started.
Visited a friend in hospital briefly and was on my way …
I'll make the best of a new day in Prince George and head for home earlier than usual. It has been a good trip so far.
Have a nice day too!
