A friend of mine owns a type of 'Cross-Fit' gym, only it's way better than a cross-fit gym. It reflects a way of being, a lifestyle and a community of people more so than a gym. The individualized coaching is second to none and yes, you get bigger, stronger and faster, like you do in most of these gyms; but in his gym you also become more athletic, you move better, your life is better and that is better than just bigger, faster, stronger. Why was my friend able to create an amazing gym? Because he's a high performer. And that is also why he's f**ked and if you're reading this, so are you. Still interested? Keep reading.
The curse of the high performer is that you are able to do most of the things that your supposed to be able to do. You already have some combination of the degree, the job, the family, the car, the business and the 'high profile' side gig. And what's more is, it didn't even take you that long to get them.
You built your own imaginary gym, early in life and you started knocking out reps until you had all that life admin done. And because you got it done quicker than most, at some level, you also became isolated from your peer group pretty quickly too. One day, you realise that adding more reps doesn't seem to improve the quality of your life, in fact it has begun to make it worse. You realise you need to grow outwards rather than upwards.
Welcome to the newsletter that will help you do just that. They say fear can never sustain performance in the long term but that's only if you're running away from it. Here we will learn to eat it for breakfast, just like you've been eating those reps up to now.
Prepare for less reps but more discomfort.
