They say your health is your wealth and you should look after it. Seems like sound advice and maybe once it was, but now, I'm not so sure.

I would say your energy is your wealth, look after your energy, or you'll have no chance of looking after your health.

Looking after your health has become yet another job to do, rather than a natural state of being. If you have to struggle and strain to keep up with your health regime, you've missed the point.

Your energy is connected to how you are feeling. And how you are feeling, your energy store if you like, is a result of time spent stimulated and time spent de-stimulated.

Phones stimulate us and therefore, drain the energy from our battery like nothing else. But so do new ideas, people, places and projects. Work plans, organising things, children and commuting all fry our brains and eventually our bodies.

The kicker: overstimulation makes it harder to rest and rest is the very thing we need to charge our batteries.

Make a list of ways you are over-stimulated and make another list of the ways you de-stimulate. The 2nd list won't take long. Next week, we'll start to work out what to do or not to do, about it.
