An immersive experience is something where you go 'all in' for a number of hours, days or weeks. You cut off from your normal routine and give an aspect of your life total focus. Examples include, holidays, retreats or short courses.
A unique feature of an immersive experience is that it gives you a high dose of something in a short space of time. More than you would normally get or have time to get.
This gives you a thing called momentum which means you return to normal life with the wind in your sails, headed in a different direction.
In 2016, I ran every morning while working on an athletics training camp in Poland. It was the beginning of running every week for close to 3-years and a series of personal bests.
In 2021, I did a 5-day men's retreat which dramatically improved the quality of my life. Many of the perspective shifts I encountered on the retreat are still evident in the way I live today.
Last month, I established a new gym routine on holidays that has been easier to maintain since I've come home.
What immersive experience do you need to change the current trajectory of your life? Will you take a week or even a couple of days to do it?
