Cross Fit for the Mind

Shame

Cross Fit for the Mind

The Newsletter that Changes the Minds of High Performers

Plant Shelf

Have you ever felt there was something wrong with you? Or that you were somehow different to most other people. Or that certain groups of people wouldn't really understand you. Is there a particular situation that brings this up for you more acutely?

That felt sense is called shame. And shame is designed to keep you separate from other people. Shame is often a response to something that happened a long time ago in which you received a message that implied there was something wrong with you.

Your childlike mind never wants people to find out there is something wrong with you and so it thinks it's safer to maintain a distance by having the thoughts and feelings I explained above.

Shame is a blocker to creating a new story because it thinks you are not capable of doing so. We heal shame by exposing our full selves to the right people. When they don't reject us, we learn that we're the same as most other people and we can have a go at most things we'd like to.

Do you have shame that needs to be shed?

Enjoying the newsletter and want a friend to sign up and answer the questions/prompts with you? You can send them this link to sign up.
