Trying to figure out WTF is going on The SNP's response to criticism of its lack of any substantive plan for restoring independence is to have John Swinney babble some inane drivel such as might adorn one of those vacuous conference addresses that are just a cue for an obligatory standing ovation and then stick a Dymo label on it saying 'Paln'. Aye! They don't even bother to check the fucking spelling! This is offensive on so many levels. Not least the fact that the SNP leadership clique thinks we're stupid enough to fall for this nonsense. When Mike Russell tried the same trick, he at least had the good grace to put a bit of effort into his pathetic 11-point 'plan' for independence. Swinney clearly doesn't think we're worth even that much effort. Given that attitude to the independence movement and the electorate, one can only imagine the contempt in which Swinney and his cronies must hold the SNP membership. Yet most of them don't seem to care. They luxuriate in the warmth of his golden shower. The National is complicit in this sad wee ruse. The SNP wanted a headline the party loyalists and apologists could point to whenever they encountered criticism of the lack of a plan. The National dutifully provides one. The only good that might come of this latest asinine intervention from John Swinney is that it must surely make more people realise how utterly clueless the SNP leadership is on the constitutional issue. We have long known that they just don't do strategic thinking. Now we learn that they don't even know what a strategy is.
