Back to life as we know it! Er … every day is different, but interesting and fulfilling.

We loved loved loved our days with family and new and old friends in and around Nelson. Some friends feel like family: Beth's mother, Lee (yeah … Gary's first wife), is truly like a sister.

Shelly worked so hard at our place, caring for dogs, cats, chickens and Loco, digging garlic and watering gardens including containers. She kept track of the Pet Hostel business: all the comings and goings . It might make sense to shut the whole place down when we go away, but this way we still served people in need, and of course, none of the lifers were lonely or neglected. We did compensate Shelly, but it was also nice to come home to a little 💰 from boarding.

The Asiatic Lily, 'Landini' is putting on a great show. It probably wouldn't even survive competition with goutweed and other plants, but it's planted in an old trunk in there!

In the vegetable garden, there is bounty to be harvested: peas, bush beans, cauliflower to mention a few. I could dig and process some potatoes and carrots (yes, they freeze successfully) because we have limited space, ie, no root cellar, for storage. yum 😋

It's 7:15 and I need to get moving! I feel like there's more to report, and goodness knows, more photos to share.

Back soon. Love you for visiting with me here! ☕☕☕
