Yesterday's anxious 14 year old dog was indeed a bundle of nerves, but he didn't try to bite at any stage. I got him shampooed, dried, and dozens of dark dots of hardened sap brushed or snipped out.
I hurt my hand while helping old San into his vehicle. It was my own fault, really, but that made me no less grouchy. I felt woozy all afternoon, and had little strength in my left hand. By supper time, the swelling around the knuckle had gone down somewhat. It's my left hand, so I will be able to cope with small dog grooming today.
Charlie and Jack went home. So did Eirwen. We had a late arrival, "Betty". Tiger might be back with us today also. And handsome husky, Fin.
Charlie and JackEirwen listen intently as I tell her that her ride home is imminent.
I'm pretty careful not to discuss people's business or stresses and sorrow in my blog, but I must say that I'm feeling tearful again. So much trouble in the world and among families of friends and acquaintances. There is so little we can do to help: only pet sit, or occasionally bake/cook. There aren't enough flowers in the world to help. I should send more cards.
This morning I'm having coffee before tending to the masses. Once I say hi to you, make our breakfast and get "out there", it's a commitment! I'll have beloved guests to tend, other dogs to groom, comings and goings. Not sure I'll be able to get "out" for coffee today.
The beautiful new patio at Welcome Home. Max says Hi!
Hope your day is pleasant. If it cannot be, I'll send whatever empathy, sympathy and courage I can.
