Am back in the living room an hour after I posted last. We have quite a house-and-yard full of canine clients, all looked after for the moment.

As I served our ham & cheese omelette, the phone rang. Friends of ours have suffered an awful bereavement and might need to leave their pets. I can't stop crying yet this morning.

On the other hand, someone dropped off his dogs just for the day while he travels to a dentist appointment. So that was a good "driveway" visit, and his youngest dog will get accustomed to being here. The older dog has been a regular and runs joyfully into any kennel we point to.

We are expecting four more biggish dogs, but others will go home today.

On their last day here, these two decided to shred their bed. Actually, it would have been Shelby, the puppy, who did the mischief, because Kylie has been here several times before. But wait … I think their owner remarked that Kylie once shredded her blanket here. 🤷‍♀️ I don't know if it's better that it is "their own" bed; I would find it less embarrassing if it happened to my blankets. Embarrassment is neither here nor there … as long as a dog does not ingest any foam or fluff, we're okay.

What? We had fun.
Fin

In another surprising coincidence, we have doggy brothers staying here. Fin and Storm belong to separate families and neither are boarded here very often. Now they are in neighbouring kennels, but don't seem to acknowledge each other as siblings; they probably haven't met since they were weaned. But we brilliant humans figured it out. 😉👍

Lumi & Storm

We have tiny Betty for a few days. She was scheduled to stay for a happy occasion, but then her family's plans took a sad turn and she is here for a unscheduled length of time. She was a bit of a "hard sell" when she first stayed with us, but is accepting me as her guardian now. It helps that I cook meat for her and feed her by hand, and am happy to do it.

Betty's signature look of "alarm".
🎶 … don't stand, don't stand, don't stand so close to me.🎶

Well, I think there is more to chat about, but I'd best go clean up the fluff and filling, and look like I'm working.

Love, Ann
