Some people go for brand name, some for quality, some convenience…and some people just want the cheapest price.  Unless it's a technology advancement, cheaper just means lazy marketing.  

And while cheap may be a short term advantage for the business, it's usually not for the customer.  You may not want your business tattooed of just having the lowest price. ;0)
