Our first date night since the pandemic was at DOVA Restaurant, a Sicilian restaurant in Cabbagetown.

This was also Jeff's first dining out since the pandemic started, so we eased ourselves by choosing a restaurant near home.

At the time of dining, patio and limited indoor dining was available. We chose to dine at their back patio because we felt more comfortable with our masks off outdoors as oppose to indoors.

Olio ($16) - gin infused Sicilian olive oil, basil syrup, lime juice, egg white and Abbotts bitters

The Olio gin cocktail quite interesting and refreshing. I do like that DOVA offers non-alcoholic versions of their cocktails.

The oysters we got were London Bay oysters, which I believe are from PEI. It has been awhile since we had oysters, so it was kinda nice. For the Polpo, we wished there was more seasoning, but it was nicely cooked.

Ragu Siciliano ($23) - conchiglie, beef and veal slow cooked ragu, green peas and pecorino cheese
Pomodoro ($17) - spaghetti, traditional salsa di pomodoro, basil

Usually we don't order desserts because we tend to be full by dessert time, but when our server asked if we wanted to order desserts, Jeff was like, ok! I guess not dining out for over a year kind of made him go all out.

Arancia ($10) - tiramisu savoiardi, orange mascarpone, Cointreau liqeur, candied orange and pistachio.

The tiramisu is pretty good, I love the citrusy flavour of orange in the dessert as it help cut through the richness.

DOVA is a nice spot for a date night. Reservations are recommended.
