They got a (very rare) treat the other day - pre-killed pinky mice! Don't look if you're squeamish
I only feed the turtles very young pinky mice (less than 48hrs old). Though turtles in the wild / in outdoor ponds would obviously decimate an older mouse that fell in the water with them, it's possible the fur & bones would cause problems with their digestion. Very young pinky mice have no fur, & their bones aren't solid yet (it's why they're also suitable as a rare treat for bearded dragons at this age).
