Hello, Susan Osborne, what is your book called and to what genre doe it belong?
A Laff From Lancashire. (Humour / Poetry.)
So tell us what is it about?
A selection of witty verse written in semi dialect. I am aspiring to be a northern version of the wonderful Pam Ayres. The book is wonderfully illustrated by the talented cartoonist, Sarah Bailey. My poems take a cheeky look at life from a northern point of view. A short section is dedicated to the odd sport of caving and pot holing which I admit to having tried for myself! ' Another Laff From Lancashire ' is planned for release in the autumn. I have a Face book page dedicated to my poems featuring video readings and lately branching out into fun Lancashire facts. I am trying to spread the word about 'us Lancashire folk', the way we speak, our quirky sense of humour, friendly nature, and our wonderful county.
What inspired you to write your book?
I have been writing my 'funny poems' for some time and after joining a local writing group, received enough encouragement to put a collection together. Choosing and editing was much harder work than I expected and it was a nervous moment when I finally pressed 'enter' to send off the email that began the journey to being published.
