Well, the Car Gang arrived today, three kittens and an adult cat who isn't their mom but was part of the hoarding situation from which they were all pulled. With 40 cats there they couldn't really tell which kittens were with which mom (except for the brand newborns and their mom) and they thought this one was the mom of these kittens. But she's totally dry and probably isn't their mom, and they may not even be from the same litter. But they're a family now!
They all got car names that begin with M. Momma cat is Mercedes. This little one, who is quite the flirt with the camera is Mercury and I bet she'll live up to the name.
The little tuxedo is Mustang, and the other larger gray and white kitten is MG. They were pretty active exploring their new space today, so video is the best way to show them to you.
Because of the hoarding situation they have some health issues and have had some treatment so far, and need some more. Mustang, the tuxedo, has a pretty icky eye and he got a vet appointment right away and will be getting some antibiotic and lubricating drops to help with that. He had an ulcer in the eye and needs a little TLC for now. They all have ear mites and yeast in their ears, so treating for that. The adult mom cat was very thin when she came in and was seen by the vet of the group that did the original rescue work. She's still got some upper respiratory stuff going on and is on antibiotics and we'll keep an eye on that. And they all need nail clips big time ---DAGGERS ON THEM TOES!!
They also need some deworming so they will be getting the really yucky Panacur which tastes worse than crap, from the reactions I get, but which works really well. I'm letting them settle in a day or two before zapping them with nails clips and Panacur. Don't want them to start out hating me!
But they are friendly and a fun little bunch. We're gonna be BFFs.
