Jim Adams' Song Lyric Sunday gives us the chance to share familiar, and sometimes not so familiar, songs. This week the prompt is to find a song that may include, or reference: Army, Soldier, or War.

The song featured this week contains the word "war" but has absolutely nothing to do with war!
I was going to include that version featuring Rihanna, but it contains offensive language and scenes of an abusive relationship and, frankly, I don't like it. You can find it on YouTube if you wish.
Instead, I am offering you Skylar Grey singing the song live on the Honda Stage at The Peppermint Club. She seems not to seek fame, and has written extensively, mostly for other artists.
She wrote this song when she felt she was in an abusive romantic relationship with the music industry whereas the Eminem/Rihanna version describes two lovers who refuse to separate despite being in a dangerous love–hate relationship.
I do hope you enjoy this, bitter sweet though it is. You never know, you may go on to discover more of her work.
