Alpine Grove Touring Park offers camping and caravanning accommodation near the southwest coast close to both the Devon and Dorset borders. We can be found at Forton near Chard in Somerset which is only a short drive from many local tourist attractions.
For campers with motor homes and caravans, hard standing is available on naturally draining level pitches with the freedom to erect awnings. For guests staying in tents, folding campers and trailer tents we have both grass and woodland pitches around the touring park, many of which are serviced with electricity. Some pitches are bathed in sunshine whilst others enjoy gentle shading from the leaf canopy of these magnificent oaks. Picnic benches are arranged around the site for eating alfresco and are ideal for picnics & barbecues.
The modern amenity block is clean with free hot water, hand basins, shaver points, hand & hairdryer and laundry facilities plus both hand washing and dishwashing sinks and a disabled/family bathroom. We are keen recyclers and provide several recycling and refuse bins, a chemical disposal point and wastewater disposal and freshwater taps dotted around the site. The combined reception and shop stocks most provisions and displays local information/leaflets on the many local attractions. We stock local produce e.g free-range eggs, bacon, sausages, bread and milk. We also sell Camping Gaz and Calor Gas refills and have a freezer available for guests to use.
The recently refurbished outdoor heated swimming pool is situated in a sun trap. The pool surround is furnished with sun loungers, tables & chairs. The onsite shop stocks goggles, armbands and rubber rings. For the perfect family-friendly atmosphere, children are occupied with a play area plus the abundance of safe cycle and walking tracks within the park. Cycle hire is available onsite to explore the local area including the Chard to Ilminster cycle path (on the old railway line) and our woodland is great for den building.
Not only are we amongst the beautiful countryside and a short drive to the southwest coast, we are family-friendly and the perfect rural retreat, we are also a dog-friendly campsite although dogs must be kept on leads while on the site.
