Do you find it irritable or inconvenient to see your beloved canine chew, bite, and lick his paws and nails most of the time? If yes is your answer, there is only one solution to that: help your dog address the issue.
The first thing you must do to stop your dog from doing this is to identify the cause of his behavior. Once you have determined the primary cause, then you can accordingly employ the right treatment:
Treat the infections
Manage the yeast or bacterial allergies
Doctor the injuries
Address the pain
Mitigate the anxiety or boredom
You may also consider using an e-collar or Elizabethan collar on your dog. This accessory is a short-term method to help prevent your dog from licking, biting, and chewing his paws.
Do not wrap your dog's paws. Experts said that this strategy is not ideal because dogs may eat the bandage, may cause tissue death if the wrapping is too tight, and may even lead to further complications.
Better talk to your vet for the best possible strategies to help put a stop to your dog's chewing, licking, and biting.
