Buzzards are a species of bird of prey that, if you know where to look, you will just see everywhere. These birds are at the side of roads, flying over fields and resting in woodland areas. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE.
Which as a wildlife photographer is awesome! It means that if we go out wanting to photograph buzzards 9 times out of ten we are going to be able to see one and get photographs of one.
Me and Michael have been out on many different occasions and have been lucky enough to see these animals if we are looking for them or not but every time we see one it is still special. Where Michael works there is a resident buzzard that nests in the big tree in the front field and whenever we pass, sure enough, it is always in there, watching what is going on in the field and in the distance. It is amazing to see.
The other day we were on our way back from a meal, we had been out for an early dinner and the sun had not yet set and right in front of us at the junction was a juvenile buzzard. I was gobsmacked, it was completely unfazed by the car and the fact that it was practically sitting on a main road and was more interested in just watching what we were doing. It was so odd how unfazed it was but at the same time it meant we got to admire it up close for a matter of minutes.
We did not got any pictures on this occasion as we did not have our cameras with us but we do have a whole stash of pictures taken on other occasions which are available to purchase on our Etsy and Redbubble shops!
