As usually happens in rescue, we get a phone call and everything moves into hyperdrive. There was a call yesterday (Friday) in the afternoon about helping someone who took in a stray cat last December that had six kittens. She wanted help getting them all fixed, along with momma, before they went off to homes. We provide spay/neuter help to low-income residents, and are happy to help. She only had homes for four of the kittens, however, and you can guess where the two remaining boys are now...in my foster room #2.
Marley and I picked up Ben and Jerry this morning, and they are lovely kittens. Around 11 weeks old already so we will get them updated on everything in the next few weeks, get them neutered at the end of March and hopefully into forever homes then. They are wonderfully social and quite cute as well. They were pretty freaked being taken away from mom and siblings this morning and did some hiding, but my cat dancer toy turned out to be irresistible and they came out to play. They've only been here a few hours right now so I don't know a lot about them, except that they are very friendly and happy for pets, which is very important. While I get to know them over the coming days, here are some phone photos of them. Ben is the one with lots of white on his chest and paws, and Jerry, the more tiger one, is actually medium hair instead of short, so that should be popular. I bet these two will get snatched up quickly!
And a quick update on Graham and Gigi. Graham is a total lovebug and basically spends his time wrapping around your leg and begging for pets and attention. With his beautiful buff coloring he will not be with us very long!! Gigi, after having a rough start, is now soliciting pets and doing much better. She just needed some time to adjust, but she's a sweet kitty for a patient adopter who will give her a few days to adjust to a new situation.
