Vacations, even when you're semi-retired, a wonderful things. Especially when there is an ice cream store...a really good one...just across the alley from the house we're staying in.
I had the blueberry cheesecake ice cream first thing when we got here, and I am seriously spoiled for life. Most amazing ice cream flavor ever, and I'm bringing some home with me. Turns out it is actually made in Central PA where we live, so we may be seeking it out in the future. Gracie got pup cups free each time we went, and she really liked the one with peanut butter on top!
We're hit up a couple wineries, dog-friendly ones where Gracie was given biscuits and fawned over, and found some nice wines to bring home. And we had a really amazing dinner last night. My salmon, cooked in a honey and bourbon sauce, was exquisite.
We went hiking for several hours today in Shenandoah River State Park, and it is absolutely gorgeous, well-maintained and signed, and my Fitbit was very impressed with me. <g> I'll let some pictures speak for themselves. Tomorrow we head to some caverns before heading home Saturday, so maybe some more pictures from there. But here are the photos from the Park today...they can't begin to do justice to the beauty of the place, but I tried.
