BREAKING NEWS
Bidens secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland, has ordered a 20 year oil leasing ban around Chaco Canyon in New Mexico. The local Navajo tribe has advocated against this ban saying it would destroy their community, but Haaland, who is a member of a tribe over 100 miles away, ignored their wishes.
The decision she made will no longer allow Navajo land owners within a 10 mile buffer zone to sell their own oil.
This will absolutely destroy the local Navajo tribe. Does anyone care about the families who's future they just ruined?
The Biden administration has issued a 20-year ban on oil and gas drilling on federal lands around Chaco Culture National Historical Park, supposedly to provide protection for the 4,700 known archaeological sites located outside the park.
However, it will result in losses to the federal government of roughly $4.8 million per year, the loss of about 49 jobs, as well as countless other local jobs affecting the surrounding communities.
Last month, the Navajo Nation rescinded its support for the drilling moratorium, saying in a letter to the administration that the move could cause its members to lose important lose income tied to the resources.
Oil and gas industry leaders have also opposed withdrawing the lands around the site for leasing.
Another job 'win' for the Biden administration, clearly they care about the little people. (Sarcasm)
