I have waited a while to post this. It's not that I wasn't sure this dream and prayer assignment was real... I just wanted to be MORE sure, MORE certain, certain I was hearing it right, understanding it right. The intervening months have proved that I was.
Rwanda especially proves it, if nothing else (see Part 2 below).
Part 1, Tuesday, 11 April 2023: Pray Into It
The Lord woke me up at 2:00 AM this morning. I had been dreaming. At first I was in a large building full of people coming and going, like an airline or train terminal. I was talking to a woman that I don't know in real life, as she was giving me a new job assignment.
She said that Jesus and Holy Spirit were both "on the ground" now, in their separate persons but working together as a powerful team. It was no longer Jesus in heaven and Holy Spirit on earth as usual, now they were BOTH on earth again. A transition was taking place and a new era was beginning.
She handed me the keys to a car in the parking lot and pointed out where it was. I had never seen or driven it before, but I got in and began driving toward downtown Florence.
When I got to the 100 block of West Evans Street (the middle block of our downtown), it was crowded with traffic. An accident apparently had happened in the middle of the block and bodies of several people were lying in the street. A number of people were milling around the accident scene, tending to the people on the ground and directing traffic around them.
I was able to slowly maneuver the car around that place and found a parking spot further down the block. I crossed the street to enter another building, where many people at desks were busy at work. A woman welcomed me as I entered. She seemed to be expecting me. I asked where my work area was to be, saying I would need a desk and a computer. She pointed to an empty desk in the back of the big, open room and I headed toward it.
What was my new assignment, I was wondering to myself, as I began to wake up from the dream.
The Lord spoke and said, "Observe and document, and pray into what you see Jesus and Holy Spirit doing." I was to use the desk and computer to research / receive news of the things they were doing and then write them up, keeping an ongoing historical record and praying into them as I worked.
At that point in the dream I woke up, wide awake. I thought I was hearing the sound of men's voices in the house, although there were no actual men in my physical house. Glancing over at my alarm clock, it was just at 2:00 AM.
This wasn't any ordinary dream. I believe there's been a transition in the spirit world, and a change in my assignment has started this morning. I have begun praying about it.
I got up, made my bed, fixed a cup of instant coffee, and fed my wide-awake, hungry kitties. Then I went to the computer and began reading news of local and world events, praying as I read. I get lots of news emails daily, as well as having links to many news organizations around the world on my computer home page. I browsed their headlines, then began clicking on links to the full articles and began reading. (I have collected several so far, as I am typing this.)
As I began, I asked the Holy Spirit to explain more clearly to me what "praying into it" actually means. He said, "It means to spiritually discern what God's will is in that specific occasion / event / situation, and pray (speak, declare, decree, command, request) what he wants done about it, in agreement with him."
I will be able to do by the gift of discerning of spirits, as the Lord shows me what is happening "behind the scenes," explaining what he wants done about it, then giving him the permission / authority to do his will by vocally coming into agreement with him concerning those things -- i.e. "praying into it."
It's not complicated. It's a team effort, he explained. Father God, Jesus, Holy Spirit, and a human believer (me, in this case) working together to get things done. He is calling many believers now into this new assignment, thus the building that I was directed to was full of people, already busy doing what I was being called to do.
Today may be an interesting day. (It was indeed! And so have quite a number of days since.)
Part 2, 16 June 2023: Rwanda Dream
Last night I dreamed about the country of Rwanda, a place I've never been, never even thought about before. Supposedly working as a volunteer secretary in the office of a government official, actually I was a spy. I sat at a desk with a handwritten page in front of me that I was supposed to type, rummaging through the desk for a sheet of official or good stationery.
There was no stationery in any of the desk drawers, only plain white "second" sheets of paper. I also looked for a clean sheet of carbon paper so I could make a file copy as I typed -- the office had no copy machine. I found only a crinkled, much used piece of carbon paper.
I was trying to decide if that would be good enough when I noticed the door across the room beginning to open. Two men in some sort of native garb (sort of like colorful track suits) were standing, talking to the government official behind his desk, also standing as the men prepared to leave the room.
I knew instinctively that these were insurgents, men with no legitimate business to be in that office, with that official. I began to think I should quickly leave the room so they wouldn't notice me, noticing them. Were they planning an insurrection? Or what?
At that point I woke up, wide awake. I thought, where in the world is Rwanda? And what is happening there?
No matter what it might be, I began to pray, and have continued ever since - (* See Example of a Monkey Wrench prayer below.) I also went to the computer and began looking for information and any current news about that country. Here's some of what I have have found so far. I now know more about Rwanda than I ever would have wanted to know!
Rwanda, officially the Republic of Rwanda, is a small landlocked country in Central Africa, bordered by Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is the most densely populated mainland African country; among countries larger than 10,000 km2, it is the fifth most densely populated country in the world. Its capital and largest city is Kigali. (Per Wikipedia.)
There is an ongoing conflict between a group called M23 (a terrorist group probably supported by the Rwandan government, although they deny it) and the DRC (Congo). This conflict has gone on at least since 2009. See https://acleddata.com/2023/03/23/actor-profile-m23-drc/. ACLED stands for the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project and has regularly updated information about many situations around the globe.
Per Google, the aim / goal / objective of M23 is:
- Besides proclaiming to enforce the terms of the previous peace agreement, M23 claims to defend the interests of Congolese Tutsi and KinyaRwanda-speaking minorities. In M23's discourse, the grievances of these minorities revolve around threats by Hutu militias and the state's ineptitude to protect them. (Feb 6, 2023)
- M23 was an offspring of the National Congress for the Defense of the People, better known by its French acronym CNDP, a rebel group which fought the DRC government between 2006 and 2009. Both groups draw on a claim that the Congolese Tutsi and other ethnic communities in north and south Kivu are discriminated against. (Nov 23, 2022)
- The M23 was thought defeated after its last major insurgency a decade ago. But it rose up again in late 2021, capturing a large expanse of territory in the east, and causing relations between DRC and Rwanda to hit rock bottom. (May 31, 2023)
The M23 is led by Congolese Tutsis and is part of a lineage of rebel groups backed by neighboring Rwanda. Support for these groups began in the 1990s as Rwanda hunted down Hutu militias that fled to DRC following the genocide against Rwandan Tutsis..... * Example of a "Monkey Wrench" prayer: Father, do what is necessary to stop the enemy's agenda in this situation, throw spiritual and/or physical "monkey wrenches" into their relationships, plots and plans, stopping the evil they wish to do.
