Oh, sure.
They hang out together for three decades before they make the decision. They don't tell anyone their plan.
They travel to one of their favorite places (where much of her family hangs out in the summertime); they invite her kids and her kids' spouses out to dinner at a cool oceanside inn, but (before they go inside to dine) they all get together in the garden where they introduce everybody to the woman who is about to officiate their surprise wedding.
They vow. They feast joyfully.
When it's time to go, a kind man from the restaurant grabs an umbrella and walks them through the sudden, overwhelming cloudburst to their car.
When the new groom turns on the radio…
