This precious soul that I found only about 100 feet from where he ran off from his owners' car has become totally composed. His family will be back through the area on January 6th.
They have sent messages of gratitude every day, and also have thanked us for searching hard for Martha, the other family cat. We have had no luck, not a single sighting of the younger black cat.
I love almost every cat or dog, and I wouldn't care if Frankie wasn't picked up. However, there has to be a limit, and four resident cats are plenty. But I was so sad when our own orange cat got run over.

Someone truly enjoys a relaxed Sunday …
Saturday was another puttering day. I decided that I wasn't happy with my "office" at the back of the kennel building, so I moved everything to the front. There is a big picture window, electrical outlets, etc.. I had hoped that the WiFi would be better there, but it is still not reliable. I have "boosters" collecting dust and will try to figure out how to use those.
I removed some kennel panels to open up the space visually. I've been hesitant to "burn any bridges" as far as spaces for pets go. I've already "let go" of plenty of the chainlink runs outside (and spent the proceeds!)
I was asked yesterday if I would consider boarding two dogs in February as a family had planned a trip. I did give it some thought, but said, "No, sorry. Still retired."
I apologize because I am sorry, in a way. I still feel like I'm letting so many good folks down. But now, I'm interested in guarding my health and having a different kind of year ahead: at least more gardening and trips to see grandchildren. 🤞
It's hard to fathom that this is the last day of 2024. It is December 31st is it not?
Yesterday at the local gas station, I checked the lottery tickets that I had found in my Christmas stocking. There was a shy-looking young man of colour at the counter, and I asked if he could please check to see if I was a millionaire.
I saw him smile, and he came back with, "Well, it's not a million, but it's five dollars." We both laughed. When I left with my winnings and coffee, he offered cheerfully, "Happy New Year!".
Whether young or older, shy or outgoing, let's all wish each other a good year ahead.
🥳 HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Love, Ann
^^^ I think I have this under control!
