We're into a new year, and I know I say it every year but it has honestly come around so quickly. 2023 was a great year for me on the whole, with a few trips taken - one of which I've wanted to do since I was young.
I wanted to share a little roundup of the year - what I've been up to, how things have gone with my blog and small business - as well as some plans for 2024 and a few goals I'd like to achieve.
In March I treated myself to a new car. This had been on my wish list for a couple years so when one came up near me I had to get it. i'd outgrown the Fiat500 and felt like I wanted something a little more 'grown up' so I went for a Vauxhall Adam. Same but different!
I was also lucky enough to go and see my favourite childhood band Busted! I saw them 20 years ago and it was amazing to see them again. They're actually coming to my home town this summer so I will be seeing them again then.
Our second trip to Greece was a summer holiday to Kefalonia. This is such a beautiful island and definitely worth a visit. Although we didn't do an awful lot, we just spent most of the week relaxing and it was such a lovely holiday.
We've had a few staycations too, all of which were pretty close to where we live, including Bude and Pentewan in Cornwall, Finlake in Devon and a Hobbit Hole in Somerset which I have to admit was my favourite.
Plans and goals for next year
This is the first time we're going into a new year with absolutely nothing booked. Not one single trip is in the diary. I'm sure that'll change soon enough.
In terms of my blog, I'm hoping to get it up and running again. I've been relying on sponsored guest posts and honestly if it weren't for that I think I would've quit a long time ago. I just haven't had any inspiration or motivation to write anything. This year I really want to have a complete overhaul of the blog and get back to working with brands and writing content that I love. I'll be aiming for one post a week for the time being.
I'm hoping my Youtube channel continues to grow this year and I can keep on top of making videos. I'm aiming for 2 videos a week - Monday and Friday - and I have quite a few fun videos already planned.
My small business didn't take off last year as I'd hoped, but I remain hopeful for the new year. I'm going to try and book in for lots more local craft fairs and hopefully make more regular sales throughout the year.
Some personal goals
I know this time of year we're inundated with people setting goals of losing weight and making changes, and I'm no exception. I'm sorry to say some of these goals are very generic but here are some daily goals I've set for myself:
- 10k steps a day
- Stick to a skincare routine
- Drink 3 litres of water
- Take my vitamins
- Eat healthier
Overall I want to improve my health and fitness, improve my skin, make and save more money. I have action plans in place for most of these goals so they definitely are achievable for me. Ultimately I just want to feel better and healthier within myself.
Until next time
