Apparently there is a convoy of vigilantes ( they don't want to be called that, but hey, if the Maga Hat fits wear it ) headed to the Mexican boarder via states that support Trump to stop an invasion of families doing what people have been doing since Columbus showed up.

These families and desperate travelers started showing up from Sea to shining sea ( as the song says ) looking for a new and better life for their families- starting 37,000 years ago-if you want to put a fine point on it.

As we know, The MEMORY of some these immigrants are celebrated.

Kids dress up like some of them at Thanksgiving and eat pretend turkey in school plays.

However, these warm and fuzzy feelings do not apply to anyone South of our border.

Now there are Vigilantes armed with guns, bibles and sammiches slathered with mayonnaise and mystery meat headed to Texas to make sure we are not invaded by families desperately searching for a better life in a country where it is possible that upon arrival they can be shoved on a bus and sent to God knows where because it gives Republicans a laugh.

So as these vigilantes yee-haw their way to the Border I would like to remind these individuals about the last time a bunch of lawn chair patriots with guns showed up ( in this case Arizona ) to "secure" our boarder.

The leader of this particular group that kited into Arizona was a failed political candidate from Everett, Washington.

Her name is Shawna Forde and she led a vigilante nativist group, called "The Minutemen American Defense (MAD)"

In their efforts to 'protect our border " Shawna and two of her accomplices broke into the home of Raul and Gina Flores ( they were after money for their cause because in those days Go Fund Me did not exist - and of course they believed they'd find drugs too which they did NOT).

In this crusade of theirs, they shot and killed Raul, attempted to murder Gina and gunned down their nine year old daughter- you read that right.

In order to 'defend' our border- Shawna Forde's recruit- Jason Bush, pointed a gun at a nine year old girl and killed her in cold blood.

Shawna Forde's actions have earned her a place on Death Row and one of her accomplices too. Nobody sings her praises ( well only because history isn't a strong suit that a lot of sitting Republican officials wear- along with a lot of their supporters) but I'm willing to bet more then a handful of Trump supporters do.

So to these Trumphumpers, don't fool yourself for a single minute thinking that the stunt you are pulling now hasn't been attempted before but that somehow you will walk away from this as heroes.

Shawna Forde had the SAME IDEA born from the same twisted ideology and look where it got her.
