"Benny"
Happy New Year and a Happy Birthday to my little bun, Benny! It's 2024, he's four-years-old, so I made some donuts for the humans to eat (more than four, but four made sense for the plating), and Benny gets some more rabbit-safe treats, like banana, apple and alfalfa hay. Benny did check out the donuts, but he was a little bit afraid of them and ran away right after the photo was taken.
Rosie came over next and was ready to take a bite out of either the donuts, royal icing decorations, or the candles if I hadn't shooed her away. She had that look in her eyes that said, "Oh, I could eat that!" I don't take chances like that with them, especially if what she wanted to eat was the candles. My previous bun, Hershey, always snagged a bit of cake or icing from a human-cake if he was fast enough.
We had lots of fireworks in our neighborhood last night, starting at 7:00 PM for some reason, but the rabbits didn't seem to mind. We hear that often on holidays here in Florida, so they're probably used to it. I told Benny they were all for his birthday, but I don't think he appreciated that.
